Using awandco in December - Part One
Share
Hello!
Thank you for stopping by again. Apologies for the delay on our second blog post. What was planned to be a 'weekly' thing ... may end up being more of a every 2-3 week or monthly thing!

I mention that because we make many Flisat inserts that you don't necessarily 'need' the table & bins for. You can totally just use them in wherever space you do your lessons. We started off the lesson with some 'counting the blocks' and some 'make the number using the blocks', before I switched it to addition and subtraction.

My oldest continues to use our scalloped 8.5 x 11 dry erase board (linked) to do her multiplication and division on. It is great because you can put worksheets under the dry erase, or just a coloured piece of paper. This week we plan on using a piece of Christmas wrapping paper underneath to make it festive.

We took our division and multiplication and division off of the page and onto dry erase. We used our magnetic dry erase flisat board, little dry erasables presents and trees, scalloped 8.5 x 11 tray and our slotted acrylic holder. I drew a Christmas tree on the board and she matched up the answers to the equations.

I know.... we are doing a lot of math. For our next blog post, I hope to include some more Language Arts.

We used our mugs and marshmallows and our trucks and trees for both kiddos, multiple times this week! I don't mean to be repetitive... but my kids genuinely enjoy having this element of matching - the equation & answer - to really help make their math exciting.

Here we did it again - the unicorns went shopping for their Christmas gifts.

Our Christmas Tree STEM insert made many appearances this month. We also brought this insert to a market and you would be surprised how many people were attracted to the math presented to them in this way. We had kids of all ages - as well as adults - coming to do the math. It was really cool to see. We will continue on this theme in the New Year with new items as it gets high engagement.
