Using awandco in December - Part Two

Welcome Back !
We are so glad that you are enjoying this series so much that you are back... for our THIRD blog post!
We are just going to dive straight back in.

We are back at it with math. I used our magnetic dry erase board to draw a (very quick, lol) drawing of a "Christmas Tree Farm" - but all of the trees are lost ! Hint - they are in our slotted dry erase holder, but you better do some math to help them find their proper homes! She had a lot of fun with this. It was a new set up. Also - peep the Christmas Lego. Highly recommend. It is one of our favourite STEM toys.

We do math and LA every day. Right now, I have a lot of examples of how we use our products for Math, but I will work on integrating them into our LA in the new year. For this next math practice, I used a large piece of green paper to draw a quick tree for both kiddos. For my youngest (left, Grade 1 happy homeschooler) - we are working on addition and subtraction up to 100 (although I have been throwing in one question that is above 100. We started on our base 10 board to visualize the numbers in base 10 form, and now we have been solidifying our practice writing the equations the basic way as shown here. We used some dry erasables - ornaments, circles, and some random shapes I had around. We also used our 0-100 dry erase number line, our slotted acrylic holder and some rectangles from one of our writing bars.

My oldest (right, Grade 4 happy homeschooler) is working on multiplication and we are also introducing division now too. She decorated her tree with some of our basic rainbow circle discs.

For our last math lessons last week,
We had some fun with some winter themed Wooden Boards with Dry Erase Inserts, and some little dry erasables to math their themes. And of course, our slotted acrylic holder.

Honourable Mention:
Not related to awandco, but we recently got a 24x36 inch white board, and it is one of my favourite things. We set up random questions on it and the kids will walk by and answer them throughout the day while they're playing. We also play pictionary on it. We also add fill in the blanks to it like : Today is ________ . The day of the week is __________. The i in Friday is a long / short i (circle the correct answer). The a in March is a long / short a (circle...). etc. etc. Or a fill in the blank regarding a science lesson we had that day. Mr awandco used it for a fill in the blank on recycling and packing materials last week.
