The House at Pooh Corner | 10 Chapters Book Study
“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you.”
A.A. Milne’s beloved The House at Pooh Corner offers children a world of loyalty, imagination, quiet courage, and tender friendship. This book study invites your child to linger in the Hundred Acre Wood a little longer, to think deeply about the characters they love, and to grow in both literacy and character along the way.
Designed for Kindergarten through Grade 5, this guide follows all ten chapters of the book with activities, rich vocabulary work, and meaningful writing practice, perfect for the read aloud table or independent study.
What’s included:
📖 10 Chapter Guides — Each chapter includes comprehension questions, both print and cursive writing practice, and open ended extension activities that invite narration, art, reflection, and/or creative thinking.
✏️ Writing Practice Pages — Beautiful copywork lines featuring meaningful quotes from A.A. Milne, presented at multiple levels for emerging and developing writers.
🗂️ Vocabulary Cards — Illustrated definition cards for key words encountered throughout the story, designed for hands on review and tray work.
🐻 Character Virtue Cards — A set of illustrated character cards connecting each beloved character to a personal virtue
🗺️ Character Map — A graphic organizer inviting students to explore physical description, character traits, and actions for a character of their choosing.
↔️ Compare & Contrast — A Venn diagram activity to deepen thinking about character relationships and story themes.
✂️ Character Cut-Outs — Illustrated figures of the Hundred Acre Wood friends for hands-on storytelling, sequencing, and display.
✏️ Final Review Activities
What should you expect at each grade?
🌱 Kindergarten — Listens to chapters read aloud and narrates back what happened in their own words. Uses character cut-outs for retelling and play. Traces or copies a single word or short phrase from the copywork pages.
📖 Grade 1–2 — Follows along during read aloud and begins reading short sections independently. Answers simple comprehension questions orally or in one or two sentences. Completes beginning copywork lines and engages with vocabulary cards through matching and conversation.
✏️ Grade 3–4 — Works more independently through chapter questions and written responses. Completes the character map and compare and contrast activities. Writes full copywork passages and begins forming personal responses to chapter activities.
🔬 Grade 5 — Engages with all activities independently, writing thoughtful narrations and extended responses to chapter prompts. Analyses character development through the virtue cards and graphic organizers, and is encouraged to make personal connections to the themes of friendship, change, and growing up.
Siblings can read and discuss together, then branch off to complete activities suited to each child’s level — a true family read-aloud companion.

from 232 reviewsMy son loves this! We did so many different activities with the toppings (used it for math activities: graph bars / fractions ex: putting ceratin toppings on half pizza, etc. )
I love how this sensory tray can be used for multiple activities like a fish bowl, snow globe.
This tray is the cutest! When my little one saw this, he went crazy! The best!
This tray is super cute! Especially for doing activities on bugs. Looking forward to the clear tray insert as well.
Excited to be using the single lined writing bars this will make my little one’s life easier instead of me having to write the lines.
This is a total gem for the homeschool mom!
This tray is so fun and just begging to be played with! Filling this one with sensory filler is extra special with all the different spaces and we have used it for school to organize information! Love the large size !
I absolutely love this tray! It’s very big, plenty of space to write and play. The two parts are amazing for school work and the tray is just beautiful! I’m so happy I got this one!
This mini popcorn tray is so cute! I plan to use it in a variety of ways for our homeschool. Its size makes it compact and easy to store when I’m prepping lessons for the week. Taking our learning off the page makes school exciting for my kiddos and AW & Co helps make it happen!
